Vik is the continuation of the "X" was discontinued on January 1, 1956 and replaced with the Vik label. The last number on "X" was at least 4X-0184, "Turn The Light On" by Eddie Fontaine (Reardon).

In 1958 Vik was discontinued in most of the world except for Italy, Spain, Lebanon, Argentina and Venezuela and discontinued in the former two in 1966. It remained active in Lebanon & Venezuela while in Argentina it morphed into BMG in 1986.

    Many albums were issued under this label in countries such as Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay, even in Stereo, YEARS AFTER RCA in U. S. A. had discontinued it in 1958.
