A band local to my scene named Possums recently got a vinyl pressed (The Possums (4), which is incorrect. The band name is just Possums, but when I tried to change it, it says "The artist Possums is invalid and should not be used". I have never encountered this before. What is the fix? I can't immediately find anything in the submission help that points to why this happens, although I did not look very hard.
Other bands with the name "The Possums" are already in the database. The Possums (3), a French Blues group that released a CD in 2017.
Your release was originally entered as "The Possums", but that's the 60's band from Ohio. That's why a replaced it and created The Possums (6), a Spanish Punk Rock band.
It could be that the band name "Possums" once existed but was disabled by someone. That's usually the case when the database returns a message like "The artist Possums is invalid and should not be used."
