If you just constantly ignore any comments on your submissions and respond to anything, then the votes will just come in at some point.
That's your choice. -

It seemed important enough an hour ago when you went to the trouble of starting this thread.
CIP is what happens when you make bad submissions and edits and can't be bothered to fix them, repeatedly. It's a way of protecting the database from those who fail or refuse to follow the rules.
If your general approach to discogs is one of apathy and "who cares", then CIP is where you belong.
If, on the other hand, you genuinely want to get out of CIP you need to make good your submissions, fix issues when asked, request votes in the appropriate thread, action any further responses, repeat until you're out. It'll take time, but it's a mess you got yourself into, so you need to work to get yourself out. Then make sure your future edits are good and you'll stay out. -

The point of the thread is the Contributor Improvement Program (CIP) is a poor method of correction. People just give up as its cumbersome, unintuitive and people lose interest trying to rectify. Thus the end result is non participation -

I agree that it's not the best system that could have been devised; there are at least two Staff threads out there that discuss proposed changes to the system, and use of voting in the meantime, so it's not as if no-one else is aware of its inherent problems, but if you'd cared enough about the data you were entering in the first place, you wouldn't even be experiencing CIP.
The bottom line is, one way or another, if someone causes damage to the data, either through malice or mistakes, they need to be stopped as soon as possible. No matter how frustrating being in CIP is for you, the damage caused by a dozen s making bad edits every day, 365 days a year, is 4380 times more frustrating for the rest of us.
Own up to your mistakes and fix them. I guess you need to decide how much you want to be out of CIP.
btw, just in case you're tempted: creating a new to circumvent CIP is against the rules. Personally I don't see a problem with that if the new makes good edits, but I don't make the rules, and a new can do a lot of damage before that one also ends up in CIP. -

It's only useless to you if you ignore votes and comments. You have comments that are months old and you're not making any attempt that I can see to fix the errors. I've carefully explained where your edits and submissions are not correct; some effort on your part is necessary. You were warned repeatedly about the CIP. What more can other people do? -

I stopped contributing a couple years ago when I was put into CIP and I don't miss it. I save a lot of time and headache, and don't waste time building a site that only breaks it off in my backside with price increases, fee on shipping, and constant tech issues.
