    Hi,

    After spending more time than I think it was necessary to figure out the fees of selling here, I've made a "Discogs Fees Calculator".

    There were other solutions around but none seem to do what I wanted (start from the desired remaining amount and see how much you have to ask for in order to be left with that amount after fees).

    You can input either the initial amount, or the remaining amount and calculate the other value and total fees.

    All variables are editable.

    I hope this will be useful also to others.

    Very helpful indeed. Great work.

    And can I already drop request for an update?
    Paypal fees are a minimum + a %, in some cases there also is an extra added value for use of a different coin. Don't know how to add this, but it would add even more usefull information.

    Thanks for the nice words.

    IkEcht, good idea, I'll keep that in mind.

    pretty cool,
    but I think you should add another parameter: "paid with credit card"

    and with that one checked, there should be an automated zero value in the "remaining amount" field ;)

    whay are initial and remaining amounts % percentages? Shouldn't that be the dollar/.euro/etc ? Cash units or something?

    In the meantime I managed to do some tests using some real transactions and noticed some differences between the calculations and reality.

    Some notes:
    - there is a 0.01 margin in the calculations (plan to solve);
    - it does not consider paypal cross border fees (plan to add);
    - it does not consider additional taxes (eg. when selling from EU to US), paypal takes a cut also of that (plan to solve somehow);
    - only same-currency is considered (pan to solve - IkEcht suggestion).

    These could explain some of the differences encountered, however I still have some unclear points.

    If anyone is testing against real transactions and notices differences, please post the real and calculated values.

    They are not percentages, but amounts. They should work for any currency, as long as you input the correct fees in the first section of the form.

    Thanks radum for such a much-needed tool - Discogs team should put this thread up as a sticky.

    Thank you, unfortunately because of the points above I don't consider it that reliable yet, and it should only be used as a rough estimator.

    Anyway to implement this into a bulk for automatic adjustment for pricing, etc?

    I had another name some time back, sold a couple of items and found 16% total charges.

    Around 20% factoring in currency conversion
