David Phillips (3)

Profile:

Pedal Steel Guitarist.

Phillips is a modern innovator on the pedal steel guitar, bringing the instrument into many other styles of music other than the country & western music it is usually associated with. David is Georgia native who started his music career as a lead guitarist. He eventually relocated to the Bay Area.
He’s played with rockers such as James Hetfield from Metallica and Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, to unclassifiable artists like Les Claypool and Tom Waits. He currently divides his time between being the musical director for the Patsy Cline tribute show Always Patsy and performing with Chris Kee and Jane Selkye in the springhouse. David is a fluid master of pedal steel, lap steel, dobro and 6-string guitar. David has performed with Houston Jones and now The Jones Gang.
