John Till

Canadian born guitarist best known for founding the Janis Joplin. Born December 24, 1945 in Stratford, Ontario, died September 4, 2022.

Till founded Stratford band The Rebels in 1957, with Jimmy Winkler on drums, Richard Manuel later ed on on piano & vocals, and the group changed its name to The Revols, often billed as "The Rockin' Revols."

Till later ed The Hawks (2) before moving to New York City where he would found The Full Tillt Boogie Band. Recruited to back Janis Joplin, he eventually convinced her to hire the whole band.
