Lourival Dos Santos

Brazillian "Caipira Music" songwriter.
Born August 11, 1917, in Guaratingetá, Brazil.
Died at May 19, 1997, in Guarulhos, Brazil.

He was one of the most prolific "caipira music" songwriters, writing around 1300 songs during his 60 years as a songwriter. His importance for the genre cannot be understated. In 1933, he moved to São Paulo, the state's capital, where he began working in commerce. He became friends with Tião Do Carro and Jorge Paulo are among his most frequent associates.
