The Versatiles

Profile:

The Versatiles were formed in 1967 by Byles, Earl and Davis and had their debut with "Just Can't Win" released on The Versatiles / The Leaders (4) - You Just Can't Win / Sometime I Sit Down And Cry.
They entered the Jamaican Song Festival in 1968 with "The Time Has Come", but finally they did not win the award. However, the group gained great success in JA and also UK, featuring both sides on three records on Crab label was launched with their "Children Get Ready" and "Someone To Love".

The song "Lu-Lu Bell", recorded in the end of 1969, was their last song as trio for the time being since Byles left the group to pursue a solo career as Junior Byles.
As duo, The Versatiles had a few recordings released on Lee Perry.

In the mid-seventies, the group disbanded forever, where Byles continued to pursue his solo career.

Not to be confused with The Versatiles (24) from UK performing in early 70s.
