The Pinafores
Profile: |
The Pinafores were sisters Eunice, Beulah, and Ione Kettle who were born in Colorado. Later their family moved to Glendale, California where the sisters finished high school. They met with Paul Sells, and Autry hired them after a single audition for his radio show in September 1945. They appeared in the 1949 movie Riders of the Whistling Pines with Gene Autry, and also appeared regularly on his radio shows and his tours into the 1950s. They were also musicians, as Eunice played guitar, Beulah played banjo, and Ione played bass. |
