Died 3 July 1986 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Higgins mainly played the saxophone and organ. He was the co-owner of Stonegood Records. He previously had recorded with Chess and United Artists.
Hit #117 on the Billboard Singles Charts in 1967 with "Who-Dun-It?". Hit #105 on the Billboard Singles Charts in 1972 with "Gotta Be Funky".
