Brian Eno – Ambient 3 (Day Of Radiance)

I buying this CD back in the 90s, after being immersed in Airports, Plateaux of Mirror and On Land.

Took it home, listened to it for one minute, took it out of the player and brought it back for a refund.

Listening to the Dance suite again, some 30 years later, my mind has not changed. However, for the first time I just listened to the Meditation tracks and they are much more in-line with the series.

Having finally got hold of a M/M copy of this one, I was amazed to find that side 2 contains completely different music to all the later reissues! A bit louder and more dynamic. The mastering is harder too. Really interesting. I never knew.

Crystalline sound. Record dish warped. Arrived gritty and sounded rough. US cleaning and flattening really brought this album up to grade.

It seems I have a copy with on the matrix/runout (A): EGAMB 003 A//4∇E420.
Anyone familiar with this copy?

A fine album to put on in the background. Primarily a hypnotic, minimalist zither album from Laraaji, but definitely has enough of Eno's touches to it to deserve the credit on the front cover. I prefer Eno's own compositions within the Ambient series, but you've gotta love that Eno came across this guy busking on the street and gave him the opportunity to participate in this very important series of music! One of those few albums that is ironically more entertaining to listen to when it's in the background at a minimal volume instead of loud and in front. I find the B-side more interesting than the A-side.

Anyone hearing issues with pops and clicks on the original 1987/1990 CD's?

The zingiest sound you will ever put on a platter! Fabulous album. Highly recommended.

Crisp, clear, high definition sound, all the little details really stand out and the music sounds full and pleasant. The pressing quality is good as well, flat, centered, not a lick of surface noise. Comes in poly lined sleeve plus CD, a great deal and well worth it if you ask me.

Can anyone comment on how this pressing sounds? There's no reference as to where it's sourced from.

The Dance: When #3 comes at the end of the Dances it is just magic. Beautifull steady-hypnotic-ambiant music at its apogée . I really feel a kind of "trance" listening to this. Still didn't had enought when it stop.
