Really not the best pressing ever, and in my opinion the blue colour is propper ugly. But it's still great to get the 1st repress of this album after over 50 years of waiting

referencing Come To The Party (LP, Album, Stereo) VS130
On the short lived Californian label which also released David, Eastfield Meadows and Pacific Ocean, Come To The Party can only be described as "extremely strange". Housed in a weird collage cover showing Olivieri naked and showing the palms of his hand full of people, surrounded by strange colors, it's a kind of concept album with the sides titled "Before" and "After". Produced by Tandyn Almer (the man also behind Paper Fortress), the music is extremely messy, with loads of keyboards, percussion and bass with almost no melody. It provides a rather appropriate background to the hallucinated lyrics and vocals of Olivieri, who sounds sincere in what he sings, even if it's completely absurd or banal. Fuzzy Soft Thing, I Cry In The Morning, Yesterday Was Nuthin' Like Today and Lady Fair are some examples of this weird production.
