I’m pretty sure this is the version I have but in all honesty I could care less about a first press copy.
-
Quiet (for a coloured vinyl) pressing, centered and almost perfectly flat. No issues. Sound is a tad bright but without distortion until the end of both sides. The OG pressing was a little better, I suppose (depth, soundstage) but that doesn‘t make this pressing a bad one. Still fun to listen to if you maybe use your EQ a bit. Colour is BEAUTIFUL together with that vintage orange label!

Mines junk. I am not sure what others have listened to by saying its good. I don't have an original pressing, but mine is pressed off center and its so pitchy its distracting. I will never listen to this again and it was a massive waste of money. Its also noisy. Essentially a POS pressing. Avoid at all costs.

I’m sitting on my couch tonight in the mood for Boston. I throw my copy on. Super beautiful look in the flame blue. But.. this pressing is MUDDY. I don’t dog on Walmart a lot of the time, because.. if we’re being honest.. they have some great presses. I can’t complain too terribly much, because after all.. it’s still Boston. But my dad’s copy from 1976 that’s scratched to hell with surface noise has more depth.
I’ll go cry in my corner wanting this pressing to be slightly more sonically appealing. It’s still an excellent pressing, but it doesn’t have the range the original pressings do. -
Found this at a Walmart of all places…. I’ve been looking for this record for a year now. God is good. Walmart is the devil.

Is it better than a 1st pressing??? Maybe??? I have a 1st press but it's seen better days and therefore it's hard to tell. I have a blue label that is excellent sonically but again it's got some pop and crackle. This release is very good. Not a fan of colored vinyl and will always go with the black if possible, but I picked this one up for $15 off the bay and it's been surprisingly fantastic. After a couple of baths to remove paper dust, I've been really happy with the wide open soundstage. The bass is nice and punchy. Tom's guitar is not overly bright and the drums again are punchy. Kick drum is tight. I've only had it a short time and hopefully I'm not grading this album based off the money factor, but I have to say it's a clean, fairly quiet well mixed vinyl. Well done. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Update, meh at best. The sound quality of the remaster is dull and congested, compared with an original and the Friday Music reissue. Nonetheless, the color is still very cool on this LP.

Probably 4.5/5 rather. I bought this one to replace my mom’s TH pressing that has a scratch on it. Scratch aside, I’d still give that one a slight edge in sound quality over this one, but that’s pretty obvious. This new one though still sounds great. My pressing was nice and centered, and the record is flat as well. Very quiet too. Great deal for $20

Went to a record store in Evansville Indiana during a Division 2 National Championship! Since I was from Boston I couldn’t resist. One of the best Album of all time!!!

Very nice release! I did not think this would be a worthwhile one because I can't count how sick I am of hearing these songs on the radio. On the flipside, no pun intended, THIS sounds INCREDIBLE and the clarity makes it stand out among the best reissues I have purchased in the past few years.
