So it's a crap pressing, there's several thousands of them issued, but the resale asking price is €41.90 plus tip? Make it make sense
-
Edited one year agoGreat pressing. Seems like I'm one of the lucky ones. Flat, no cracklings. Would buy again
-
Edited 5 months agoThe music is fantastic! The pressing sounds great too, only need to clean it.
My record was crackling like crazy, but after a wet clean it became 90% better so I guess I will do that a couple of times more... No scratches on the vinyl. -
The music is 10/10
However, the pressing is awful. There's a lot of crackling, clicking, and popping going on. I cleaned it several times, but it didn't help much. Very disappointing, I hope they make a competent repress.
Nevertheless, I love this band. <3 -
I would like to own this but, I see lots of people saying it has lots of pops and cracks, as well as it being scratched. hopefully, they repress it and fix these problems

This is a great example of a bad process control considering the contrariety of reviews below. Got mine from Amazon and was not so lucky with it. Two discs have scratches on both sides and some of them seem as if they were done on purpose because of the repeated pattern they have. As expected a lot of pops and cracks throughout most of the record with some parts cleaner than others. Nevertheless the sound is so deep and thick and droning that eventually and fortunately I managed not to mind those flaws and concentrate on music itself which is unique in the genre of jazz. Besides you could even go as far as to consider those pops/cracks/sand as an artistic feature done intentionally to imitate old records. Who knows maybe that was one of their fricking ideas like these drops of rain on the artwork.
Buy at your own risk, but a reissue with a better process would be a nicer thing. -

The plates are absolutely smooth, without waves. I didn't find any rustling on the mass of the plate. There are a couple of scratches, but it doesn't matter. Excellent recording, I recommend it.

I going to assume Optimal fix the issues that people mention on their reviews cause mine is crystal clean. Not a single scratch on my two records.
People also mention there was alot of crackling and pops when they listen to theirs. I only had one pop on the first song at the beginning and that was it.
I was also bless I have next to none surface noises. Its was actually kinda spooky how dead quiet it was before the jazz kick in.
The music was darkly gorgeous. Those sax was so dynamic I swore I was listening to the Cowboy Bebop OST. The bass from the bassist and lows from the piano is enormous. It filled the room and turn it into a bar. This current pressing they are running is top notch. Get it while its this cheap. -
Edited 4 years agoNot sure what they're doing at Optimal these days but these discs are scratched to hell fresh out of the packaging... hopefully it's not audible. Lots of dust particles as well.
UPDATE: The music is incredible but the pressing quality is subpar. Visible scratches out of the shrink, lots of dirt and dust. They're flat and centered at least. There's constant surface noise throughout, probably some of the noisiest vinyl I've heard lately.
That said, some ages play quietly but it's a bit of a toss up.
Music: 5/5
Pressing: 2.5/5
