Fantastic album, but I really wish it could've came in a regular jewel case rather than a digisleeve. I try to take care of my discs as best I can and yet this one is still super scratched from how it sits in the sleeve.

Edited one year agoBoth more pastoral and more massive than previous Hum albums. My fave Hum experience.

Edited 4 years agoI can now hear the music listening to the CD version. I can hear the melodies, the chord progressions, the harmonies, the vocals, the textures, the layers. I can actually hear the songs without the distracting distortion from the vinyl version. The dynamics are fine with the CD as well. There is plenty of clarity and separation between the low frequency chugging guitars and the harmonizing elements of the upper frequency guitars and vocals.
This is a beautiful album. Amazing imagery, great hooks, great songs, great lyrics. Such forcefulness and authority with the music. I love it.
Give the CD a listen. It’s breathes new life into the music. This is a situation where the CD sounds better than the vinyl. Unfortunately the vinyl just has too much murky distortion. It really is worth the extra $10 to give the CD a try.
